Dental

At Anzer Animal Hospital, we believe Pet Dental Care is of the utmost importance. Good dental hygiene is just as important for pets as it is humans. Yet, it is one of the most overlooked areas in pet health. Without proper dental care, dental disease can lead to more serious health issues, such as; heart, lung, and kidney disease.

Starting at a young age, puppies and kittens should have their teeth evaluated by our Veterinarian for oral development, deciduous (baby) teeth, extra teeth, and missing teeth. As your pet ages, our Veterinarian will exam your pets teeth for Tartar, Periodontal disease, and oral tumors.

When problems arise though, we have all the necessary equipment to address infected and fractured teeth. All of our dental procedures are done under general anesthesia. Continuous monitoring is performed by one of our nurses, (Temperature, EKG, Respiratory, CO2, Pulse Oximetry, and Blood Pressure). In addition to professional dental cleaning, we have digital dental radiography; which allows us to see potential problems that cannot be seen during an oral exam.

Prevention is always the best option. Regular teeth brushing, water additives, and soft chew toys at home, coupled with regular dental check-ups can help your pet live a longer, healthier life.
